
Corey joined the firm in August 1998 after two years with a Maryland based accounting firm. He is responsible for providing accounting, auditing, investors' representative, attestation and consulting services to a wide variety of entities including commodity pools, hedge funds, commodity trading advisors, investment advisors, broker-dealers, introducing brokers and other operating entities. He is in charge of the firm's Investors' Representative practice which provides consent to principal transactions as required under Section 206(3) of the Investment Advisors Act of 1940.
Corey is currently the treasurer of the Mid-Atlantic Hedge Fund Association. He was a member of the Accounting Advisory Board of the University of Baltimore from 2008 until 2010. He has written several Hedge Fund Industry articles for industry publications. Corey also spoke at the Opal Emerging Managers Conference in May 2005 on SEC record keeping regulation and the FRA Hedge Fund Accounting and Administration Forum in July 2006 and July 2010 discussing audit issues related to the Hedge Fund Industry. In addition, he served as a panel leader for a workshop discussing audit issues related to the Hedge Fund Industry at the FRA Hedge Fund Accounting, Auditing and Administration Forum in December 2006, July 2007, December 2007 and July 2010. Corey also served as the Conference Chair in September 2008 for the FRA conference titled “Preparing for Your Hedge Fund’s Audit”. Lastly, Corey spoke at the FRA conference on Accounting, Auditing and Risk Control Standards for Hedge Funds in December 2009.
Corey graduated from Towson University in 1996 with a Bachelors of Science, majoring in Accounting. He is a certified public accountant licensed in Maryland, Florida, North Carolina, and ability also to practice in California. He is a member of the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
