Scott S. Anderson, CPA

Scott S. Anderson, CPA, Member, joined the Firm in February 1994 after approximately four years in the tax department of Price Waterhouse (predecessor to PricewaterhouseCoopers). Scott is the principal in charge of the Firm's tax department and is ultimately responsible for all of the Firm's tax consulting and compliance services.  Scott's technical experience has focused on tax consulting and compliance for operating entities that provide services in the alternative investments industry, including Commodity Trading Advisors, Registered Investment Advisers, Broker-Dealers, Introducing Brokers and Futures Commissions merchants.  He also is involved with the structuring of domestic and offshore hedge funds and commodity pools, including Controlled Foreign Corporations, Foreign Personal Holding Companies, and Passive Foreign Investment Companies.  Scott has extensive experience with limited liability companies, S corporations, limited partnerships and C corporations.  He advises principals of management companies and related groups of operating entities to minimize entity-level U.S., state and city income taxes and owners, self employment and payroll taxes.

Scott is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and the University of Maryland with a Master of Business Administration.  Scott is a member of the Managed Funds Association.  He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants.  Scott is licensed in the District of Columbia, Georgia, Maryland, and New York.
